Craigslist is one way that folks in the Pay it Forward gifting circle of the Fraser Valley find people to bring to meetings, to try and get them to participate in the pyramid scheme.
Back in the spring of this year, I had put an add up on craigslist offering writing services. A fellow responded to my ad, and we met for coffee to discuss the business plan he allegedly wanted to hire me to write for him. He told me he had budgeted $1500 for the business plan and wanted to carry it out over a couple of months by meeting weekly with me. This was a significant contract for me, and so I obliged when he invited me to attend a gifting circle meeting (something I had never heard of) before our next meeting.
There was no business plan. The hiring a writer ploy was to get me to a Pay it Forward gifting circle meeting.
