Social worker’s guide to saving the universe

Maybe you can’t quite describe it, or you don’t feel the need to talk about it, but you feel unified with humanity at the level of the heart. It is as if love pours from you for others; seeing someone who appears to be in pain brings your kind attention to them and you do what you can to ease the hurt. People are attracted to your presence because of your calm nature. You want to do whatever you possibly can to heal those who seem to be in darkness. Your life is dedicated to doing good work, because you genuinely care.

But you don’t really know how to get the job done. There is only one of you, and you can only do so much. You often feel torn between emotions of elation and anguish as you walk among the suffering of the world and you are sometimes able to help, while other times, even with your help, things seem only to get worse. And at the worst of times, the despair you come across is so overwhelming, all you can but do is cry yourself to sleep. You want to help the hurting so badly, you can almost feel their pain. You empathize so strongly; in fact, you do feel their pain; it is as if it has become your own. Indeed, it is your own pain. But the more you try to help, and the more time that goes by, the worse the pain seems to get.

You’re doing what you believe is your part in helping. Yet you feel burned out. Depleted. Tired of making sacrifices that don’t seem to actually have much impact. The calm nature that attracts others to you has all but disappeared; you still try to appear calm, but inside your guts are in knots. In fact, you mostly feel like you might have “sold your soul to the devil”, as the saying goes.

What if your heart is in the right place, but the sacrifice is unnecessary?

What if You are the Universe?

… and You are already Saved?

There is a growing group of folks on the planet whose message is essentially the same one: that which we thought we are is not what we really Are. We recognize that the Light is on, so we testify not to suffering, but to the Light. The bodies that seem to contain our minds do not represent the total Truth. Inner Perfection within need only be recognized to “turn the Light on” for self and others. It is no sacrifice to judge the world with only Love, and the Benefit is that it takes one out of the suffering of this world.

Social worker, save thyself. It has become unquestionably Known that no matter our karma, or our lifestyle, or our thoughts themselves, what we Are is really just Love. We are all One Love, each and every one of us, and there is no divided Self that actually exists, nor needs saving. The eternal Self that is made of Love is all there is to notice of the world, and to Rejoice in.

Be the Love that you Are. One by one, this is how the social worker saves the universe. Know that Your Light is on and It Shines. You are the Kingdom of Love, not a tired, broken heart. Love is all there Is, and all you Are.
